From the league office
As many of you have already seen or heard, baseball is included in the next phase of reopening our wonderful province back to normal. While that is a very positive sign and should be welcomed and celebrated we still have to be cognizant of the fact that we are one small oversight or misstep away from falling back 10 steps and losing the sport we miss for even longer. The target date for a first official team workout is June 8th. Not a day or two before. Teams caught assembling too early outside of protocol are doing so with no insurance coverage in place and risk severe penalties for doing so.
Please do not be the ones in the media because someone took a picture of a practice. One where a team was not following protocol jeopardizing the game for everyone.
Please follow protocols and do not take things lightly as this is a matter of safety.
Guidelines and checklists to be distributed to all coaches, players, execs, fans, etc in the upcoming days.
